The Paleo Diet
The paleo diet is also known as the caveman diet. Our forefathers lived in caves, and they ate real food. Not the rubbish you buy in boxes and tins that you get in the supermarkets. They ate what they caught or hunted. They ate what grew from the earth or what they picked off trees. They didn’t suffer from diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, asthma or any of the modern diseases, because they ate real food. The paleo diet makes sense from a health perspective as it takes you back to how we’re supposed to eat.
Who the paleo diet is for
The paleo diet may be for you if you suffer from Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue or have gluten intolerance. You will know you have gluten intolerance if you have digestive discomfort. When is the Paleo Diet not for you
The Paleo diet is not for you if you are diabetic. When you are diabetic and your sugar is high, you need to stay away from fruit and starchy vegetables, like potatoes, rice, carrots and anything that is white or naturally sweet.
The ketogenic diet
The ketogenic diet is high in natural fat, and low in carbohydrates. If you limit yourself to 20 grams of carbs per day, and have more fat in your diet than protein, then you are on the ketogenic diet. The ketogenic diet is for people who have chronic or severe illnesses. It is also a great diet for weight loss and it also helps reverse diabetes and Alzheimer’s, among others.
We have been conditioned that to eat fat is wrong. That fat makes you fat. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The truth is that our brain needs fat to perform at its best. Sugar starve brain cells and that’s why we get Alzheimer’s. Take sugar away, and feed the brain fat, and the brain flourishes.
